Introducing the New Testing Tool for Enhanced Accuracy
Why was the testing tool built
I worked on a secondary way of calculating Schengen area stay. By having two methods, I'm able to create tests and compare the results. This allows me to do QA a lot easier and a lot faster than before.
How It Works
The testing tool runs automated comparisons between calculation methods, showing us:
- Whether all methods agree on results
- Success rates across different scenarios
- Detailed breakdowns of any differences
- Visual comparisons for validation
V3 Development
The V3 calculation method handles more dates across wider time ranges. Currently used purely for testing and validation.
The main calculator (V2) will continue to be used, while V3 provides cross-validation to catch potential issues before they affect users.
Transparency in Testing
The testing tool runs comparisons across different travel scenarios.
I will still be doing manual tests and comparisons with the official calculator tool to build up confidence.
I do highly suggest that you continue to use multiple tools while I build up the suite of tests and increase confidence in the Melimundo Schengen Calculator's reliability.
You can view the testing results and see how different calculation methods compare at our Testing Tool page.
